MEETING SYNOPSIS

This course will focus on the advances in diagnosis and surgical management of a wide spectrum of pediatric retinal diseases. It will
feature interactive panel discussions, with debate about different surgical approaches to these pathologies and management of
complications. Common and challenging cases will be presented with preoperative diagnostic imaging and intraoperative videos.

OVERVIEW

The course is designed to showcase cutting edge pediatric vitreoretinal  surgical techniques, therapeutic pharmacologic treatment strategies for the pediatric vitreoretinal surgeon, and utilization of advances ophthalmic imaging to improve pediatric patient outcomes. A variety of information will be presented to stimulate the exchange of ideas. Audience participation will be encouraged, and extensive discussion periods will be provided.

EDUCATIONAL
OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss treatment strategies that optimize vision in developing infants and children

  • Define different manifestations of common pediatric retinal conditions

  • Evaluate new therapies and technologies for use in clinical practice

  • Discuss genetic conditions that affect that affect vision in children

  • Discuss surgical techniques in children and how they differ from adult retina surgery

The core of our efforts is to improve the diagnosis and management of infants and children with retinal problems. Since our founding in 2021, we have been determined to make an impact through our courses for Pediatric Retina Specialists worldwide. Through all of our endeavors we seek to share our respect and caring for colleagues and patients of all genders, races, ethnicities and beliefs.
